My Journey Behind the Lens
My earliest memories with photography take me back to my early childhood, growing up in a home where the bathroom would magically transform into a darkroom. I remember the excitement and curiosity as my two older brothers meticulously sealed every crack to keep out even the tiniest sliver of light. It was a sacred space where they developed their photos, and my fascination grew as I watched from the sidelines.
In the early 90s, when I was just 6 or 7 years old, my father handed me his cherished Zenit SLR camera, allowing me to take my first photographs on my own. The camera felt heavy in my small hands. In those early days, my father introduced me to the complex world of manual settings—ISO, shutter speed, aperture, exposure. Even at that young age, learning how to shape light and capture moments felt like unlocking a magic world. This was the beginning of my love affair with photography. At 8 years old, I received one of the most memorable gifts of my life — a Kodak automatic film camera. It was my constant companion, and I was capturing everything around me, frame by frame, with the wonder and enthusiasm only a child can bring.
As I entered my twenties, my passion for travel reignited my love for manual photography. With a first semi-proffesional DSLR camera in hand, I embarked on several slow journeys by bicycle, exploring remote villages in the Balkans, Scandinavia or dangerous desert in Ethiopia, known as a hottest place on Earth. The purity and raw beauty of these off-the-beaten-path places captivated me, and I sought to preserve those moments through my lens. My work was featured in various magazines, and I had the privilege of sharing my experiences, stories and photographs with thousands of people at travel festivals, various events, schools, libraries, numerous radio interviews or live TV show in Poland.
For nearly a decade, I have been enchanted by the breathtaking landscapes of Iceland, where I am currently based. When I became a mother to two wonderful boys, my focus naturally shifted towards capturing the beauty of family life — maternity, newborn, and family photography became my new passion. Today, I am thrilled to share my creativity and artistry with you, capturing your family’s sweetest moments and transforming them into timeless works of art. I look forward to helping you preserve these precious memories in a way that is as unique and beautiful as your family.
